Fury Angel is slowdanger’s fifth release with Pittsburgh based eclectic electronic music label, MISC Records. Through this album's dynamic journey, slowdanger shares memories of tracks that were workshopped and produced primarily through live shows and touring throughout 2016-2019. This release carries the energy of humidity, catharsis, and vibration. The opening track, fury, is a space where chaos breaks through and intertwines with syncopated rhythmic elements and digital piercings. This track was inserted into sets as an interstitial space for visceral dance performance in heated and sweaty sets in bars and clubs around the US. The album closes with the contemplative, without, that narrates the journey of moving on through conflict, and confusion, striving to remain open to the future and what pains and joys it might hold. Initially made in response to drifting away from a relationship, its themes have become ever more relevant after a year of isolation and seclusion. Fury Angel holds the tension of opposites, when pleasure and loneliness sit alongside each other in the body, as we teeter on the edge of the abyss. It synthesizes musical genre, providing an outlet for a multitude of sonic textures.

slowdanger is a multidisciplinary performance entity based out of Pittsburgh PA, founded by taylor knight and anna thompson. They build saturated sound and performance worlds through the use of embodiment, technology, vocalization, electronic instrumentation and dance performance frameworks. From directing music videos to scoring plays, slowdanger transforms their shape to adapt to a variety of different containers.Their work has been featured across the U.S. and Canada in venues ranging from proscenium theater and gallery to nightclub and dive bar. Throughout their extensive and eclectic performing career slowdanger has opened/shared the stage with notable music acts such as Yaeji, Abdu Ali, serpentwithfeet, :3lon, the Moon Baby, Babyteeth/Rivka, Joy Postell and more. They have created scores for dance for Gibney Dance Company, Francesca Harper, MICHIYAYA Dance, Bill Shannon, Sidra Bell, Dorchel Haqq, and more. Their dance and sound work has been shared/featured internationally at venues/festivals/parties such as Hot Mass, Honcho, Detour, Kahlon, VIA Festival, Usine C, Place des Arts, Dance Place, the Kennedy Center, the Carnegie Museum of Art, Carnegie Music Hall, the Andy Warhol Museum, and the Museum of Modern Art. They were one of Dance Magazine’s 25 to Watch in 2018 and creatives in residence at CMU’s Frank-Ratchye STUDIO for Creative Inquiry in 2019.
